For Q42004 I resolve I will go back to spinning on Mondays and Wednesdays.
I stopped going to spin classes when I quit my job in July. I admit it: I got lazy. I have a hard time sticking to routines unless I have specific routines that fill up my day. Discipline: not really my thing.
OK there was one other major problem with spin class: it’s at 6AM. It takes me 20 minutes to get to the gym, and I have to eat something before I go otherwise I pass out on the bike, which means 20 minutes for breakfast, and another 20 minutes for putting on clothes and other miscellanea (usually trying to find my car keys). Do the math: spin class requires the waking up at 5-freaking-dark-o’clock in the goddamn bloody AM. This goes a long way toward explaining why I stopped going to spin class in the first place.
But alas, the lack of spin class in my life has meant the gradual creeping up of poundage on the scale over the last few months, a very alarming development indeed. Of course it has been pesto and ice cream season which also has something to do with that. But then apple pie season follows pesto season, which is followed by turkey and stuffing season, which is followed by wild mushrooms in cream sauce with penne season…all of which overlaps with really good old vine zinfandel season. Arrrgghhh. I must take steps now before things go completely out of control.
Monday. 6AM. I will be at spin class. So it is resolved.
