I’m currently living in the mountains just outside Silicon Valley with Eric and a bunch of cats and chickens. I do contract technical writing for a living. For almost ten years in the 90s I wrote computer books. I don’t do that anymore.

About This Site

This is the sixth iteration of this web site. This site is powered by WordPress. The design is based on the Thesis theme from DIY Themes. I worked on my own theme for many months before becoming so mired in details I decided it was a better idea to just go with a professional theme. Thesis has been a dream to work with. The art nouveau images on each page are out-of-copyright images from Art Nouveau Designs in Color, a Dover reproduction of a lovely book from 1900. I scanned them and redrew them in Adobe Illustrator. The colors are not the original colors but are appropriate to the time. All site development was done on a Macintosh Mini and a MacBook laptop with TextWrangler, emacs, and Firefox. I still write HTML and CSS by hand. Hosting by DreamHost.
